I need a new computer

I'm looking to upgrade my current computer and know less than nothing about anything technical =( I only need the base unit as all the peripherals I have are working fine. All I basically want is some speed in the computer, soundcard would be good. Any good deals around anywhere??

My answer would be to build one!!! ... but I guess that's not much use to you if you're not technically minded. It isn't really that hard though and I've now built 2 from scratch, having no real tech experience either.

The other alternative would be if you had a friend/relative who might do it for you, or at least guide you in how to do it, as buying ready built machines these days can be a total rip-off and they are never the exact spec you need/want either :(

As a guide, I recently built a PC suitable for gaming for less than £250 and have just added a new graphics card to it costing £150, but that's still only £400 in total for a machine which would have cost me well in excess of £1000 from a high street retailer

Don't be put off by their 'business' looking site - they're really helpful people.

we knew nothing when we got ours.

    Don't know much more now!!
