  • Hurrah, 3rd time I've done the challenge and 3rd time I've stuck to budget.I get paid on Friday so my next month starts then and I know I've already got everything I need Actually this month I'll be around £20 or so under budget.Don't think I'll drop it for next month though as there'll be lots of Xmas extras to get.I think I'll try a bit more of a drastic reduction in January (which will hopefully also correspond to a dramatic reduction in the post-xmas waistline!)
  • Well once again were over for the month £204.55 i blame my OH who has become hooked on MSE and decided to try some R&R against my better judgement and ended up paying £11.09 on meat we didnt need hence the overspend not to worry another month is just round the corner and we can start again.

Well came in on budget of £350 for groceries, cleaning stuff (thanks to white vinegar and stardrops did not need to buy any) and toiletries. The last 2 months I have stayed in budget which previously I would not have done and just chucked the extra on the card. Also other bits and bobs are being paid for via this budget now such as lunch club for DD, postage for stuff sold on ebay, birthday cards and alike!

So all in all I am very pleased with my progress but know I can cut back further so will try this month. Would like to have £50 left which If I concentrated on getting DD2 out of nappies I would have £20 plus a month saved already.

My month finished on Friday so now waiting for Dec challenge to be listed.
  • I'm a bit over my budget again at £96.11 for the month - although it's still a few pounds less than last month so at least it's moving in the right direction...
  • Went over our buget by about £14 or so - but we think we done really well this month and are really chuffed with ourselves :D
Didn't include christmas things - have a seperate crimble budget for those. Included in shopping budget is cleaning materials and toiletries as well.
Aiming for the same next month too - our month will start again maybe on the 4th Dec as that's the next planned shopping date. We've amassed a fair few vouchers - luncheon vouchers I get from Pinecone surveys and also lots of tesco ones - I know should really save them to use on days out as they are worth more, but we got enough in vouchers to cover the christmas dinner stuff, so may as well use them, starting from the New Year, we're going to save tesco vouchers for days out etc. :)

  • My months run from the 1st...I went to Asda today and hopefully have enough now to last until Fri which is a new month. December could be tricky, but I'm going to try give myself a budget of £400 as I'm under this month. Going to stay with bf for Christmas so I'll let him do the C'mas day/ Boxing day food shop. Out of that £400 I need to get food for my sons B'day party (at home), and a New Years Eve party too, but if i'm over budget by end of month I'll just ask everyone to bring some food aswell as a bottle.
Love this challenge though- I'ts really stopped me just throwing stuff into the trolley!
