i'd agree, a chip that is 70% oil and the rest potato doesnt do wonders for any diet. but hell, people smoke cancer sticks. fry away!!!!

Thank you! I know too much oil and chips are no good but just can not resisit the temptations. Call me weak, if you like.

It's a common myth that fat soaks through chips to cook them, but in reality the fat stays on the outside. The surface is fried, and the inside is cooked by the moisture in the potato turning to steam.

Although you should always drain well and lay them out on kitchen towel to get any excess oil left on the outside.

I prefer to leave the skin on as well, as it has a lot of the minerals and vitamins in a potato.

Chips are just like any other food, eat as part of a balanced diet, only have small portions, plenty of veg and so on.

Crikey, did I just write that, as you can see, I'm bored and have some spare time. :)
Because it's only half the calories, you can eat twice as much. :D
Because it's a bargain, you can buy twice as much.

I bought a large breaded prawn selection from Makro the other day. Never seen any cooking directions like it, they read 'only to be deep fried for 3 minutes' No other cooking methods available! Didnt think I needed a DFF before I bought them, now I may do!
