I whole heartidly agree with David, the actual technology you are buying is worth nowhere near the price tage Apple have put on these, I have said it before and I will say it again anyone who buys anything Aplle is simply buying into a brand, buying a badge a designer accessory such as designer sunglasses or the latest designer handbag, dont get me wrong I am not saying this is wrong everyone to their own after all.

Already there are alternatives from other manufacturers, some better than the ipad by miles and a LOT LOT cheaper, unless it is the badge you desire I would not rush out and buy one of these I would have a look at the others on offer for a more sensible price first.

Also I was reading last week that Aplle being Apple are already bringing out the IPAD2 in March, not only does it FIX the majority of the things wrong with the original but it incorporates a few new features as well so now really is not the best time to be buying one :)

    HTH and Merry Christmas :)

Yeah i know, but if people want to buy apple then they might aswell save £50 although people who buy apple props dont care about £50

Why dont they just get it right first time no usb, no camera etc its not that hard is it ?

Hopefully the Ipad2 will have both. I've decided to wait and will get my son one around April (or sooner once announced).
He's also strangely keen on waiting for the new model.
Hopefully it will be pitched around the same price.

  • @david69 @underpressure - what are the cheaper alternatives then? Millions must be wrong eh? Good job you guys are here to point out what a pointless device the Ipad is. Phew!

Well the offer is there, if anyone wants one!
  • And just to continue the thread, I have an IPAD and love it. No boot-up time is incredibly useful when you want to surf at a moment's notice about someone you have seen on the box.

As for being too expensive - yes it is expensive. But where are the alternatives? There are a load of android versions pitching it at under 100 pounds all the way up to 500 pounds ... and none of them have the same user-friendliness, responsivenss or usability of the ipad.

You are paying a premium for usability and trust me it is a price worth paying!

We ordered the 32gb model from apple last night, considered a refurb model but I'm too picky if it were to have any slight cosmetic flaws I'd moan and be disappointed. Couldn't find any better deals and the vat increase is coming up, apple rarely reduce their products so not worth waiting any longer. And how stupid of me I've somehow managed to open quidco page and not ordered through it :o But I'm excited about its arrival.
