That's rubbish news about your windscreen! Won't Autoglass accept liability ? Surely they should pay for a new windscreen?#5 - Save £12k in 20260

Linz, they say "this might go wrong" up front, so that they're free of blame when it does go wrong. He refunded me the £10 I'd originally paid for the chip repair, because obviously it wasn't repaired, but there's no recourse to them for cracking it. I do wonder if they are careless on purpose because they get more money for replacing a whole windshield than they do for repairing a chip... but I probably won't use Autoglass for the replacement because they messed up in the first place.
Very pleased today - managed to sell a couple of decent value things on Amazon, the money for the one I sold last week has dropped into my bank account and I'm shipping another today so next week a bit more will get paid into my bank. I'm stashing that money away somewhere safe to start my rainy day fund. Every little helps!

Had a bit of a wobble at the weekend and bought some books - despite saying that I was going to do my best to sell/donate all the ones I'd read and wouldn't ever look at again, and sort out what I hadn't even read yet before I even thought about buying new ones.
Still squirrelling spare money away into my ISA for my first OP... kind of wish I could overpay in little bits rather than having to send a minimum of £500 a time, as I would round off my current account straight into the mortgage at the end of the week rather than into my ISA like I do now.
I am looking on track to have a decent amount left at the end of the month thanks to two kittens going off to their new homes recently. Did spend some of what I'd received on a show entry but that was budgeted for so I think that's OK.
Haven't sorted that windscreen out yet though... it really needs doing but I just keep putting it off.
This week I really must have another go at those books and also re-evaluate whether it's worth trying to sell the old CDs or DVDs that I never use on Amazon. I looked up how much they were worth and it's pretty minimal. I know every little bit of money helps, but when I see it's 30p for the majority of them, I keep thinking...well, there's bound to be something I can do that uses my time better than that. Which there isn't - I just end up messing around on facebook. I lack disclipine!0 -
Wow... it's been a long time since I posted here. Must try harder!
I made an OP of £2000 today which made a lovely little dent in the mortgage amount. Just wanted to share and do a little happy dance

Thanks for the encouragement guys.
I must try to use this diary more, there is so much that I could and should write down. I am also on a bit of a diet at the moment to try and shed some extra weight, and I think I could combine the two things for extra motivation - but I am very forgetful when it comes to writing things down.
One thing I am pleased about at the moment is that we have quite a few people buying eggs from us quite regularly and I've done the maths and the eggs we sell pay for all the chicken food that they eat, and we still have more eggs than we can use left over, we probably eat far too many eggs and my cats get scrambled egg for treats as well. Selling eggs doesn't pay for all the extra treats, corn, mealworms etc that we give them but I bet we spend less on that than we would on buying eggs, so I'm really glad we decided to take them on. They're great fun to watch scratting around in the garden, too.
I need to do another big push on putting all my old textbooks on Amazon as that will be a nice pile of stuff out of the way that I don't have to stare at. Then I need to decide what to do with my CDs - selling them to Music Magpie for 30p each seems a bit lame, even though I don't ever really listen to them. I could take them to a charity shop I suppose.
And I hate to say it - but I STILL haven't fixed that windscreen. There's a giant Nike-swish shaped crack on the passenger side, it's getting dangerous now but I never get round to it. Must get it replaced - supposed to be going to Bristol at the weekend and I don't want to get stuck with a shattered windscreen half way there.0 -
Jenova,
I like reading your diary.
Please, please get your windscreen fixed so that I know that you are safe and that there will be future posts for me to look forward to. Being money conscious is all well and good but safety first!!
Good luck with the diet.
