both myself and partner drive so this would go great in my car, plus i like to have my child in the front-so as to keep an eye on them...other advantage is it can use a lap belt too not just a 3point one...

Cannot see from Argos photo. Isn't there a safety harness to strap the child in?

No, it's a group 2/3, they use the adult seatbelt.

I had a quick google, but couldn't find any safety performance information.

This seat isn't included in the "which?" tests of children's car seats (and in fact, the mamas and papas one which is included doesn't do well safety wise) - and though the price is good, i'd like to know how well it performs in crash conditions. We've just bought an expensive Maxi Cosi rodi seat (which did do well in the Which? tests), but would like to get a second seat for the grandparent's car.

No 4-12 years, the older ones will just use the booster seat part of it.
