Not free but charity shops usually do scraps of material usually quite large scraps for 10-20p or so.0

I was looking at the Ikea catalogue today and noticed that the pale blue cheap fleece (think it might be called Irma) has been reduced in price to 99p. You could make loads of those with one fleece.0
