I parked the car today in a pay carpark and as I was approaching the meter a man who was leaving shouted me over and gave me his ticket.:T
This never happened to me before. I guess giving those strangers in burger king my unwanted vouchers has paid off:D;)

To be honest I've been known to do that before if I've had to use a pay carpark literally to nip into a shop for a few minutes. It was done for me years ago so any time I can now I repay the favour.
So what's happened to me? M&S had a one day wonder on a couple of weeks ago whereby a mens lambwool jumper was £10 from close to £30 but it was 1 per customer only. I rushed down that morning but didn't know there would be 2 necklines to choose from. I went to phone my mum to ask her opinion (it was a pressie for my dad) but my phone had died. Happened to get talking to a lovely lady about where to pay and I was saying I didn't know which of the two jumpers in my hand to get. She very kindly offered me, a perfect stranger, her mobile to call my mum. Ok I was only on for 10 seconds but I was so touched. I knew she wouldn't accept anything for it so when I saw her at the till I gave her £1 to put in the charity box of her choosing so hopefully a charity has benefited even if it's only in a small way. She gave off to me saying it was Christmas and she couldn't take the money (I was right when I said I knew she wouldn't accept it!) after all but how many strangers would do that?
I wish I could give her a hug as the jumper I was going to take would have been the wrong one so instead I had a very happy daddy on his birthday. There are some nice people out there, they just keep themselves well hidden!0 -
A few months ago I was parking on Sandy Row and was about to go up to pay station as it was pay and display when this young fella (teenager "R" plate driver) came over and gave me a ticket he has paid for as he had to leave minutes after putting hte money in.
I would always try and help when I can as I always think of how nice it feels to have someone be kind to you.“A house is made of walls and beams;a home is built with love and dreams.”2012 Challenge to buy most gifts and non essentials from money made online.:money:0 -
You should all shop in Ballymoney! Everyone passes their tickets round if there's unused time left on them. I often get a free ticket and if I have one to give away, I hate it if I can find no-one to give it to. We hate the Redcoats round here!! (Not personally of course but no-one wants a parking ticket at any time of the year)0

We always try to pass on our unused hours on a parking ticket and if no one is around stick it over the coin slot on the pay machine for the next person (funnily enough though never been give a ticket to save us money).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

Sounds like you had a lucky escape Harmony - buy yourself something nice with the refund. Big hugs.
I experienced good and bad yesterday. I was hit right between the eyes by a snowball while I waited to cross the road in Belfast City Centre - I never even saw it coming. The bridge of my glasses cut open my nose and I was standing in the middle of the street totally dazed and covered in blood and a lovely young man made sure I was ok and got back into my office building where I could get first aid.
Can I say thank you to him :T :T :T and to everyone else at work who were so kind.
and can I say :mad::mad: to the 3 little spides who were throwing the snowballs. Great use of your day off school!0 -
I had to take the cat to the vet yesterday. A friend was suppose to drive me but was too frightened to take the car out. I booked a taxi to take me and it was late but did get me there. I asked for them to book to collect me coming back at 2pm. No taxi turned up so I phoned and was told the taxi had been cancelled!!! But they would try to get me one out asap. A man with a dog also in the vet offered to take me home and he did. Infact another man with a cat offered me a lift, but he wasn't going in my direction.0

Not a very big thing, but I ordered some trainers for my OH and when they arrived there were 4 little packets of sweets in the package with the trainers. I just thought it was nice and quite festive.0
