Accommodation Taxable ?

Hi

My Private LTD company is based at home and I had to stay in a hotel whilst working on a job and I wondered if I could write this off as tax.

Thanks.. Metso

Yes, as long as the hotel was a reasonable distance away from your normal place of work. In these cricumstances costs of meals are also OK provided they are reasonable

You may have been a little imprecise with your words so just to clarify ... No, you can't "write off the amount as tax" but you can claim it as an allowable expense against income, in order to arrive at (taxable) profit.

I hope I've been clear - but if not, do post back

  • What does the private company do?
If it is an investment company (ie a money & assets box) you won't get much sympathy for going on a jolly to look at your investments.
