Red lipstick that would suit pale(ish) skin?

I'm not one to normally wear any colour of lipstick so I need some help! I went into Boots today to get some and I was just totally lost! I'm normally a lipgloss sort of girl
I've got very dark hair, blue eyes and pale skin. Normally I disguise the paleness through bronzer but I'm going au natural this weekend. Well I'm ditching the fakebake anyway
I just need help with what shade of red would be right for me
Thanks loads!

Depends on your skin tone.
I have similar natural colouring to you and a yellowish tinge to my skin which is a warm skintone (creams and other warm shades suit me well, white doesn't!) - brick reds work on me - think tomato red.
If you have a cool skin tone you need a "bluer" shade of red - crimson etc0 -
When you try red lippy on smile in the mirror, some shades make your teeth look really yellow. I have similar colouring to you and like a vintage matte look so wear Ruby Woo by Mac (not for the faint hearted!). I also wear lip liner to stop any bleeding edges.

Try Lipstick Queen "medieval". Its a lovely sheer red, suits most people. I am quite fair and I love it.
They also do all their shades in saint 10% pigment, and sinner 80% (I think) pigment.
They also do Butterfly lipsticks which have some blue pigment in them to make your teeth appear whiter."If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.":DMiss Mona, The Best Little *****house in Texas0 -

Go to the Estee Lauder or Clinique counter and they will addvise you and let you try some on and you dont have to buy.......
going from lipgloss to red lippy will be a bit of a shock so try before you buy ......0 -
I'm also pale with very dark hair and use Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in 'Berry Queen'.0

I highly recommend MAC Lustreglass in the shade "Venetian".0

I have a red Chanel lipstick which I adore. I forget the name, but apparently it's a "classic" one which was used in a lot of advertising recently? I have brown hair, blue eyes and pale skin, and the lipstick itself has a blue-ish base, so looks great and stops my teeth from looking yellow (which some reds can do).0

Cockney by MAC for me (similar colouring to you), or Viva Glam Cyndi by MAC, which is more on the coral side of red if you wanted to ease yourself into wearing red lips! It can be a big jump if you've never done it before! x0
