    sorry generally unhelpful post alert

couldnt help it but my first thought when i saw this was, but i thought mac's just worked.....

now trying to be more helpful, have you double checked the password? and have you double checked what type of encryption is being used?

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • Are you getting any error messages as to why its not connecting? Anything unsusual that you have noticed?

Despite the above, mininformed joker, Macs do actually work very well out of the box. I would say its most likely an issue with the router itself.

Double check and make sure you are using the correct wireless key/password.

OK, enjoyed the comments, Played around and got it to work, then it stopped, Now keeps giving a timeout message when I try to log onto the modem. The modem is a ThomsonC1705A if that helps.

I'm not too familiar with the Thomson stuff. Its probably not the best of routers though.

Might be worth seeing if there are some firmware updates for your router.

On the Mac, it might be worth getting it updated, too, for good measure. Connect the Mac via Ethernet cable to the Internet and run the Software Updates on it. Might be some newer drivers released since its manufacturing date. Always worth doing with any new Mac or Windows PC.
