Hello everyone I've read some things on this forum and I think it may be a good place to get some advice. All here have some story to tell, it seems clear to me that everyone's debt is as individual as themselves. My position is no different. I am a bipolar sufferer and I am self-employed. My condition is not serious and I can usually maintain control. However it does sometimes effect my judgement and I have made some silly decisions in the past - which at the time seemed perfectly logical.
Now I am in debt and I really have no chance of ever paying it off. The main problem is that I am a contract worker - sometimes on monthly rolling contracts - I am paid very well it's just that it's erratic form of income and can vary greatly from month to month when I am unemployed/Sick/Holiday, I get nothing. Also the expenses incurred for any particular contract can also vary greatly depending on how far away it is and where in the country.
This makes it very very difficult to budget as my in/out figures can vary so much. I talked to the guys at CCCS but the budget they come up with just does not seem to fit my needs it's not flexible enough. It seems to me that it's just putting off the evil day when I can't cope anyway.
As I said, my position is not yet serious - I have just missed two payments on a credit card - I earn well when working, but my debt is over 40,000 and I continually get hit by unexpected high costs as I have no reserve left. An example of this is my landlord has just informed me that he want's to sell the house and will probably give me notice soon. As my credit rating is low now this adds another worry that I won't be able to find a place for my family to live.
Sorry for the long ramble but I don't know what to do, I thought going to the CCCS would help, but that seems to have raised moire questions than answers.0 -
