How can I stretch a pair of trainers?

Hi, I'm not sure if this thread really fits here but hopefully someone can help, I have a pair of trainers that I play football in, they are just new and are very tight, is there anyway I can stretch them a bit, eg stuffing them with something over night or something like that,

any ideas appreciated

Thanks

Scrunch up newspaper and stuff it into the trainers until you can't fit anymore in and leave for a day - i think you're supposed to do this with wet newspaper, but i'd try dry first as it might ruin the shoes.
  • wet newspaper works a treat, not soaking, just damp, and pack it in tight and leave overnight to dry out. works well with all shoes, except canvas shoes, which can soak up the newsprint.
