Census Job application-online problem

I have applied for a job as a census collector next year and gone past the stage of a telephone interview.I am awaiting details of the next stage and a couple of days ago went onto the Census website and entered my details and password. Unfortunately I haven't written the password down and three stabs at it all failed ( a mix up with o's and 0's as it turned out). I requested a 'reminder' and it was sent unfortunately landing in my spam box. Before I realised this I had requested it again and only when it didn't arrive a second time did I search and find it as above. The crunch came when I came to get on the website and it comes up as 'account frozen' obviously because of the number of attempts to use a wrong password. Problem is I don't have an e-mail address to explain the problem and the one used to send material to me from Capita is 'no-reply'. I hope this minor problem won't effect my application. Anyone else had a similar problem

i have just done the sifting process for the application, so far i haven't had any problems with email.
  • Exactly the same has happened to me and I don't know what to do!
  • Capita probably won't be looking for staff who manage to forget important details and then follow instructions to correct it incorrectly. Dealing with situations like this will be a costly exercise for them and one they may not be willing to incur and instead revert to candidates who don't make these mistakes. They won't be short of applicants.

I think you should atleast have had something by email oe telephone, but i think these jobs don't start till march anyway, so i say no news is good news.

OP - call them on 0845 304 0960 to see if they can sort something out.

Thanks a bundle. Rang the number given and a nice young man reset my password and I'm now back in the groove. As for Mr Redundant - get a life. You are probably the sort of fool who has the same password for everything to prevent you forgetting it. And with the number of forums etc. you must be on to try and irritate people thats probably not a bad thing.
