Ace bleach is a stain remover (and a damn good one in my experience), it will not strip colour. You need household bleach to strip the colour & this rots the fabric eventually:rolleyes: unless you can use one of the nuterlising agents Skim describes but I am a bit lost on that? I know milk nuteralises bleach, I suppose after bleaching soaking the fabric in milk then washing would not stop the eventual rot?
There is colour stripper available from Dylon which "claims" to take the colour out of garments so that you can re-dye them a lighter colour. In my experience it is about £4 for nothing. I used 2 lots, my table cloth is still resoultely green:mad: However, it's effectivness may depend on the starting product, you can buy it from Robert Dyas & Wilkinsons & Woolworths if you are interested......I wish you the best of luck;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Hi Guys.
Mrs Jinx has spilt a few drops of red wine down a new white top, several washes later and now it more a faded pink splodge.
Can anyone tell me how to bleach it? Do I just use domestos thick bleach in the washing machine?
cheers0 -
I sprayed my cleaning mixture onto a stain on a white shirt the other day, it looks as good as new now
In a spray bottle, I fill up to about a quarter of cheapo bleach, a decent squirt of washing up liquid and fill up with water.

Hi Jinx, if the top has been washed and dried already, then I would put some bleach, thick or thin doesn't matter, in a bowl/sink and add warm water.
Use approx egg cup of bleach to bowl ofwater.
swish the top around and inspect the stain, if it hasn't gone after about 5 mins, then remove top and add a bit more bleach to the bowl of water and dunk the top again.
In the meantime, put some whites into the washer towels/bedding/underwear whatever.
When you are happy with the top, wring it out, into the washer and switch on.
If this is too much hassle, then throw top and whites into washer, switch on adding powder as usual. When the machine has got water showing in the drum, pour bleach into the powder drawer and then wash it down with warm water to rinse drawer.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

Gents, great advice.
so I mixed a splash of domestos into a sink of warm water the item to soak for 20 mins, chucked item into washing machine on a quick wash and bob's your uncle.
sorted.

hello, ive currently dyed my cotton dress in the washing machine as i wanted the dress to come out in a white color anyways when i took the dress out it has seemed to turned a reddy color haha, is this because i am using the wrong type of bleach or is it because i need to keep it in the washing machine longer?
any suggestions?? x0
