Any hotel recommendations for weekend away? North or South, but not too far south as I don't want to spend half the weekend travelling.

I had a lovely weekend last year staying in the Narrows in Portaferry. There was a deal on, two nights B&B and one evening meal, and the hotel was lovely and so was the meal. But it was about 18 months ago, and I know that in the hotel/restuarant business, a lot can change in that length of time....

you can search for all kinds of deals including b+b and an evening meal. Ive used it a few times and got some good deals.

or if you're not fussy what area you stay in try priceline.co.uk and use the name your price facility.

You can get 5 star hotels for as little as £50 a night!

For good deals, I usually just buy all the local papers (tele, irish news, newsletter) & check the ads. They all seem to have different days for holiday ads so maybe someone else will know which days to buy which paper...

Try pages 506 & 507 for the nearest hotels - there's one in co sligo for euro 109 pps for the weekend - hot tub, pool, seaweed bath, beauty salon. There's another for euro 99 pps. Both 2nights + 1 dinner.

Feel like taking a break myself now... this site seems to make me want to spend rather than save!
