I know that's a silly example but you see what I mean, If it's with a manager and not HR then my experience of managers are they hate BS and want to see your ability to do the job intelligently, not your ability to spout rubbish.
I think I see what you mean, demonstrating common sense > buzz words
Seems the general consensus is that informal chat is code for interview so I will prepare as such.If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
Yeah that's what I meant!
It's wednesday, my brain is fried.
Out of interest, as you have a student loan, I take it you're a grad?Wise man once say "When in hole, don't dig"0 -
Yes, I'm a postgrad. My current student income covers the bills but I'm really really aware that I've got no spare income to save anything, hence the additional part time work applications. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0

Ah I've got you, I decided not to do a postgrad for that reason and I know they cost a fair wallop if you're not brilliant and getting it for free (which I wouldn't have).
good luck with the chat/interviewWise man once say "When in hole, don't dig"0 -
In hindsight I would say that it was an interview, thanks for all the advices people, I got the job.
Overall it seemed they just wanted to make sure that as an applicant I was sane and that I was actually serious about taking the job if it was offered, thankfully both of those things are the case.If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
Congratulations, have you started yet ?0
