Hi,

My main hobby is Landscape photography and ive often been told by various people some of my pictures are probably sellable, im a bit more sceptical myself but ive never really gave it a go. And i am spectacularly broke at the moment so i could do with a little bit extra.

I can understand getting exposure to sell photos online would be pretty hard anyone had any success at this?.

A small selection of my photos are here just my landscape/nature stuff i do Derelict/Abandoned buildings as well but i doubt anyone would want prints of those.

Im also considering doing some Freelancing in 3D animation and Design which is what i am currently doing for Full-Time work (doesnt exactly pay well as a recent graduate however) I generally do Modelling/Animation/effects in 3DS Max and Houdini, with some good experience in Fluids with Realflow.

Just not to sure where to look for decent Freelancing work.

Apologies for the lack of a link, cant seem to post one as a new user :O.

There are lots of sits that you can join to sell your stuff, if you want to dip your toe in the water (so to speak)
  • deviantart isn't the best address to have your pics at - it sounds like a !!!!!! site!

It's hard to make a living freelancing and it's best to specialise. Do you want to do weddings/schools/events/packshots/marketing and PR shots? I know a few photographers and none of them make all their income from it - but it is possible if you get a 'name' for quality in a certain field. Don't go too cheap is my advice, too much competition and too little profit, if you are good market yourself at the premium end.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.

I've been told by a number of people that selling your work to or on stock photo sites is a reasonable money spinner, hardly big bucks but if you're shooting for your own enjoyment anyway it might be a good place to start to see how popular your work is.
If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.
