in Cutting tax
Hi
my boss told me when putting my wages through that the amount of tax I pay seems strangely high, and that i should look into getting a rebate.
i get paid roughly the same as a colleague (give or take 50 quid) but he did not mention it about his tax, just mine.
he said the fact that i am not married and do not have kids may be taken into account? (colleague is married with kids). does this have any bearing on the amount of tax you pay?
thanks

In which case you have the standard basic personal allowance and should be paying the right amount of tax? Only oddity (comparing with others is something your boss shouldn't really do) is if you've changed jobs since April and the P45 hasn't been handled correctly? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
