all of this wanting prices to rise so people need to pay more to live somewhere
that's life, get over it - house prices go up, house prices go down. even in Northern Ireland.

    Ironically we all do,

There was some bearded guru on newsnight that stated a country's happiness was nothing to do the amount of money you had , but how this money was spread out relative to others.

Ie in more equal societies people tended to be happier, when in unequal ones the opposite.

Every country needs people who suffer to keep the masses happy. What makes it even worse is most of us love to watch it.

So wishing suffering and pain on a small group is actually quite a positive thing. Weird but true.

Take this example. Church or england - god exists. Does god exist? By your argument it is proven!

I have no issue with old people dying due to coldness providing they deal with the situation. If they dont move to a home designed for their needs, why should we care? It's not out responsibility to help those who dont help themselves.

If there was an award on this board for the most stupid musings then I think we all know Sibley, the Ghouls chap or Dr Gloom would win it. But I'm sure you'd get a very special mention abaxas.

Almost all who go on this board are the same, I include you in this. But I agree Sibley/Hamish/Ghouls are a special case.

It's an internet forum, hence a place where we can debate without limits. This I like!

The only limit I ever come up against is the stupidity of humanity. I include myself in that, lots of things I'm stupid with and would never get into an argument about. The problem I find is that when you flag up someone's stupidity, they always go on the defensive, to try and protect the lie they told themselves.

I guess too many people on this board read the Daily Mail :<

Wishing prices up to price more people out and keep you 'pension' nice isn't desperate?

Personally I would welcome a cheaper house (wouldn't we all) but I don't want anybody to suffer in the process, hence I would welcome a slow correction over a good few years as it shouldn't hurt too much.

But when I see people wishing prices up for there own selfish needs and celerbrating the suffering of a whole generation in the process you may see why this annoys me and many others.

(notes: I am not personally priced out due to much hard work, houses are quite affordable in my local area and I am currently getting a deposit together)

By definition every price rise above inflation will price more people out.

So in wishing for prices to rise you are wishing for more to be priced out, even if that isn't you main goal.

Sorry if it seems that way, which bit do you want me to clarify?

It does not mention the landlords in London who may have their tenants moving away with the cuts to housing benefit. Will these LL`s lower the rent to get someone in who can pay out of their own pocket?

Or will we see repossessions rise considerably in the city? How long can these places stay empty before the bank comes knocking?
