DECT / GAP slimline phone

wanna buy a GAP / DECT phone for the house

Was looking at a panasonic phone. I believe the GAP allows you to place the GAP box anywhere where there is a BT socket and then to site the phone anywhere around the house?

Any help or advice would be appreciated, along with naturally what and where to buy the best model

Not sure exactly what GAP is, but I know that ebuyer has a good Panasonic twin pack available. Not the most up to day but still pretty decent.

In the beginning was the telephone ...... with a CORD

Then came the cordless phone ...... WITHOUT A CORD ... but wireless ANALOGUE communication and prone to radio interferance

Then DECT - Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications - newer digital, clearer signal, more secure.

Then GAP - Generic Access Protocol - a standard adopted in Summer 1996 by DECT manufacturers. This means a GAP DECT handset made by company A will work with a base station made by company B (not absolutely 100% guaranteed of all features since handset may not have all the buttons or the display for them to work)
