I have justhad new carpet put down in my house. There are loads of bits left, some quite large. Can anyone come up with some inspiring ideas of what I could use it for?

I can only think of two ideas so far....
    1. If you have a garage a couple of pieces could be attached to the walls to stop doors getting damaged when opened.
    2. covering a compost heap...helps to retain heat.

Keep em! If any of the carpet gets damaged you can use it to replace the piece.:D

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!
  • -Sew the edges up, and use them as mats.
-Cut a section to the size of your loft access and attach to the back of the door for extra insulation.
-Wrap around a broom handle as a streching post for cats.
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.
  • Do you know any children with a doll's house? I used to love 'decorating' mine with odds and ends.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

Just what I was going to say ;) If you get a burn or stain on your carpet you can cut it out and cut a bit from your spares to replace it ;)

I have just had a new halll landing and stairs carpet and the large piece left was sent away to be ` whipped` which basically means it was returned with a border around the rim useful for infront of the hall door. Cost about £18 for a large sqaure and already well used!

I do this every time I have carpet laid. Well worth the money, and you get an exactly matching mat! Any carpet shop will usually recommend somewhere for you.
