Re the credit file you will be financially associated with your wife whether or not you have a joint account I believe. Credit Reference Agencies tend to assume people living at the same address with the same address are financially association.
When I moved out of home I was associated with my parents.
I want to open a cashminder account but don't fancy calling up or going in. Still I'd rather do it ahead of time.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -

I didnt want my Wifes credit rating to be affected so I had gone in to get myself a separate account. There was alot of running around after which the young manager, looked at me and daid he was sorry but he cant over rule the computers, and I cannot have another account. My wife will go in and get my name removed from her account is what we've decided.
Anyhow...After that wasted hour in Halifax, I wandered into Barclays, spoke to a nice guy there and told him I would be going bankrupt Marchish time, and he opened an account for me there and then.
A few days later, I received a lot of mail - thinking its the creditors, I was hesitant to open them, but what did I find ?
A new Halifax Easycash Visa Electron Card, and welcome to your new account from Halifax???????
Can someone explain this? Also got a letter wehere it says I have been identified as an important customre and would I like the new Halifax Credit card !!!
I had also received the Barclays CardCash Visa debit card and pin codes.
Im not sure whats going on - but it shows if you go try make it personal, sometimes then can "over-rule" the computers..
Not sure which accounts will work after the Bankruptcy, but going by what the guy at Barclays told me - even if the OR wants to see my account for a few days, they will not prevent me from using it after BR.
Best of luck whichever your brother chooses.
You will have been OK as you are not as yet BR, it takes a couple of weeks to register with the credit agency. OP please try not to worry as he will be fine, I opened my cashminder the day we went br over the phone xxIf you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0 -
If you try to do it before do they argue? I rang once already but didn't liek the way the fired questions at me. Basically they were trying to suggest if ur not BR now its not the account for you. What would be the point of opening another account if that would be closed when you go BR?Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

Hi, I'm planning to apply through the LILA route in jan as i will have some money to do this then. I have a lot of payday loans and no hope of paying them back as I'm a full time student. I have some quite old debt which I am not being chased for - am I best to include this in my list of creditors so that it is officially taken care of? and also does anyone know how ur credit file actually looks once complete. I have about 10k to be included but wondered if the level of debt is taken into consideration since i have seen others with 100k etc?0
