    aaaagggghhhh....
I just wrote a longish post and lost it.

Anyway I have made OP of £42.63 making my running total £2495.02/£6000
Only £4.98to find to have paid of 50%:j

Last week I cleared out my purse and I had £40 worth of lottery tickets in there (I'm not very good at checking them regularly - I could have been sitting on millions:o)

Well I checked them and I hadn't won a penny:(
I was more annoyed at the money I had wasted at £6 a week on lucky dips for both Euromillion draws and Lotto draws.

I decided that I was going to have a little experiment.
From now until December 1st I am going to spend £3 on the Lottery and £3 is going in a sealed pot.
Then I will still have the thrill of maybe winning the big one but also saving.

I wonder which will yield the best return - Lottery or sealed tin???

Hello all - back from visiting rels in Devon and hopefully not too much damage done financially - DH was ill with tonsilitis all the way through so we did a lot of staying in! they have a lovely garden and the moors nearby though so we did get some lovely Devon sun.

Nothing to report by way of paying off; just not increased the bills so that's good.

Morning all - been very quiet on here and it's already halfway through the month! Ack. I'm back to work this morning after two weeks off which is not pleasing me. Bah. And first day of post-holiday diet too. Sigh...

  • Hi All
I get paid next Thursday and am hoping to put £1000 towards my CC. I did a wee financial satement for myself last night and have decided that once the CC is paid off I am going to work on getting an emergency fund together so that I will never have to rely on CCs again for emergencies. Also, I want to save around £3000 to go towards paying off my mortgage which I hope to pay off by chirstmas due to an inheritance which is coming my way once my relative's estate is finalised.

Sooo.... the loan I have to pay off will probably not be paid off in 2011 but in 2012. Jwil, can I please adjust my target for 2011 to £13,785 and if you set another challenge for 2012 (as I am hoping you do:)) then I will set a new target to pay off my loan then.

Many thanks jwil for setting up this thread, it has been instrumental in getting me focused and getting me out of debt and keeping me motivated.
