    Thanks for the updates everyone!

Looking forward to the weekend

Had a scary moment with the car this morning, it started making the most awful crunching noise at 6.45am where I was doing some work and about 20 miles from home . Apologies if anyone reading was rudely awoken at that time :o I was wondering if I'd hit something, or if I was dragging a huge piece of metal along the road but no thankfully.

Spoke to DH who said it sounds like the clutch has gone (it's been not great since I had the car about 4 years ago, so wouldn't be a great surprise). So anyway, carried on and did my surveying, went back to the car and all was fine. I've managed to get back to work ok without a problem so hopefully the gears just slipped or something. At least I don't have a hefty bill for a clutch (touch wood!)

Pay day yesterday so have paid 134.33 to c.u. loan and 50.00 to credit card making my running total now:
    3323.68/10,000
I know i've said it before but I cannot wait until I am using that money to overpay my mortgage and put into savings:) I suppose at least I am doing something about it now as for years I was happy paying the minimum payments and still using the cards so that they were always maxed out:o

    Good luck everyone:A

Hi Boysma, I know what you mean. I have been listening to a speaker called Jim Rohn (an international speaker on wealth and sucess) and he talks about the five pieces of the life puzzle that make for a sucessful life.

His first one is philosophy - and I know since coming on to MSE my whole philosophy about money has changed. I am proud to be paying off my debts and looking forward to the future. Throught the process I have also learned one big important lesson - I just can't handle credit cards!!

You are doing a great job Boysma:TKeep plugging away and it will soon be gone!:j

    Hello all,
Had a great luxury weekend in Zurich (press trip) which really reminded me how the other half live. Sigh. Still, grateful to get the chance to go. Came back to a real GRRRRRR ebay moment; we were selling our sofa bed which is a really good one; hoped to get around £100, had 50 watchers. It sold for £20. Very depressing! I never put reserves on so I know that I just have to accept it but I really thought with 50 watchers I'd be OK. What were they all watching it for>???

And to top it all I can't take the paypal money out as I only have £49 in there (you get charged for any withdrawal under £50) so I just have to wait until I sell something else. Pah. Wanted to pay some money off!
