I am doing this too so I can see the total debt going down. Mine is currently £2,713 - was going to wait till pay day but feel the need to update now. Paid off my overdraft (£300) which I hadnt included in part of my £10k debt (head + sand + not acknowledging as debt moment) so my actual credit card payments dont look like they have reduced much but that is including interest.

Will update again at month end (Next Wed only!)

    Thank jwil :D

Well done on paying off your overdraft! I don't count mine either :o, it will be paid off once the other debts are gone (well, I hope to start reducing it once I have some spare money each month).

Well done on paying off your CC! :j

Ah thanks very much JWIL. it's been great being part of this forum and feeling that I'm not the only person struggling with debt. Thanks for organising it all and all the time it must take you to tot up the figures.

  • I have yet another new updated figure for the month £759.06. This is a regular monthly payment and another 26 pound out of the change jar. Good news as my sister has cleared out her wardrobe and i have loads of clothes with labels still on and other things to sell on ebay so hopefully a good overpayment next month. I am finding this really addictive and i so want to clear off this debt hanging over our heads for all of our futures and hopefully we will be able to save and take the kids abroad.

Went to the bank last Friday to cancel aforementioned defunct dirct debits. spent about half an hour on the in-branch phone (as instructed by staff) explaining what I needed doing.

Long story short, somehow my current credit card (one of them anyway) ended up being reported as lost or stolen! I was unaware of this until yesterday when I tried to access my account online to make an overpayment. Now have to wait 7-10 days for new card/password/internet id/security number to be issued.

    Gah! :wall:

Incidentally, I was doubting myself and my sanity, but OH was with me when I phoned and confirms that at not point did I say 'oh by the way, I want to report my credit card lost or stolen'

Anyway, enough muttering & moaning, running total is £333.14/£1,500

Oh, how ridiculous! That is so annoying - especially when it takes so long to get new ones issued.
