MYSTERY SHOPPING THREAD 18 - please don't mention client names or fees on here!!

i think mystery shopping companies will continue to offer such pitiful fees for as long as they can get people to do the job.
for example this morning i was offered a visit that required driving 40 miles to a bank for just £15!!! they wanted it typing up within 24 hrs and threatened not to pay if i dont. so i told them to stuff it!!!!
The questionnaires don't take long - it's mostly just Yes or No answers. Easy enough to do when you get home. Obviously it's up to you if you don't want to travel so far for a job - I wouldn't either - but plenty come up within a reasonable distance.
PS Don't mention the fees on this thread - it breaches confidentiality :eek:0 -
Morning
I'm back from skiing but on crutches, so no MS ing for me for a while. Nothing broken, just some damaged ligaments. Am off to catch up on the 40 pages I've missed
Get well soon duck.
PS. BARE allow up to 3 jewellery visits per wave. So apply for more if you want some more expensive jewellery!0 -
I'm not a mystery shopper but thinking about it, is it very time consuming?0

To be honest there are so many banks with so many companies that you don't actually know who they're talking about. So I wouldn't say that the questionnaires are easy as you don't actually know what company it's for.
However, having read this persons previous posts I have no desire to even engage in conversation with them regarding mystery shopping. They are incredibly unprofessional and give us all a bad name.0 -

Exactly my thoughts Lil_Me. I wonder if the MSE team could put an 'Ignore' button just like in chatrooms?..0 -

depends if you want it to be.:D
you do as much or as little work as you want, so your in control of timeI get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

And depends on who the shop is for! With Retail Eyes when you get multiple queries relating to questions that weren't actually asked in the questionnaire it can seem to take a while!0 -

Fair enoughI didn't mean so much that the questionnaires were easy, just that it can be done when you get home (more of a reference to within the 24 hours mentioned).
I have now read this person's previous posts and I am inclined to agree with you!0 -

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon xxJohnnyB_Good wrote: »I'm not a mystery shopper but thinking about it, is it very time consuming?
That's a how long is a bit of string question!
It depends on what you need to do in the store - just ask a simple question or ask several detailed questions in different departments. It takes longer if the store is busy as you have to queue for service.
Reports can vary from a yes/no question list that takes about 5 minutes to tick the boxes or a full written account of everything that happened that takes forever to type up.Here I go again on my own....0 -

Also time in itself is relatively irrelevant, as the fee for a specific job is important as well. As I'd only really see a specific job as being 'time consuming' is the fee didn't reflect the effort involved.0
