Nor me. They do say that if you are willing to travel to one of the areas that they need people that you can apply. But that the first few jobs you do will be in those areas.

I'm tempted to apply, but I'd have to travel about an hour away for the first few jobs so I'm not sure it's worth it.

    A little tip...
What you could do is join for an area with vacancies then add all the others to your list. Once you are accepted, you choose the areas you want from ticky boxes, and can do what areas you want.
E.G There are no vacancies in London, but are in the SE

I do one sometimes, if I'm away anywhere

So I could apply for oswestry in The Midlands, but add Nottingham, Derby, etc?

Or will my first few jobs have to be in that first area?

I think your first few jobs can be wherever. I live in East Sussex but my first two jobs are in Dorking and Midhurst as there's nothing closer

You only take the jobs you want from the board, so I would have thought you could wait for the Derby ones, or do Owestry in the meantime if you don't find many in Derby coming up. (My geography isn't great and this may well be 200 miles apart)
I've got all Scotland on my list, but have never chosen to do Inverness for example, as it's too far and difficult for me to get to so isn't worthwhile as you don't get mileage.
But, if you want to get to gold/platinum quickly so you get first pick, you would need to travel a bit I'd have thought, unless you live in London or a big city.
When I joined up I only had one local job in about 6 months then realised I wasn't seeing many, as the Platinums and Golds were getting first choice, so I spent a while travelling about a bit and got to platinum very quickly.
Also there is a time limit on how often you can redo certain places so you do need to be flexible.
    Hope this helps?

Thanks! This is a big help! We do a lot of travelling as we go to gigs all around the country so I was hoping I'd be able to pick other places!

I think you get extra bonus points for out of area visits.

I'm with Quality Eye & have been for years - I've not worked for them yet though, but have had something in.....think it was a Focus Group - but I wasn't available at the time.

If it's Insight Market Research I'm with them too................did one job early on.

If it's just 'Insights'........not heard of them sorry.
    ;)
  • I've just tried signing up with GB but they said I do not fit their criteria. Is this because I do work for other MS companies?
