things like photo gifts ie albums, frames, canvases always go down well

but i think the idea of taking the person out for a meal, afternoon tea sounds good

maybe even try looking on some websites like notonthehighstreet or graham&green for some inspiration

Take them to see a show/panto at your local theatre. Did this last year and everyone loved it so I have done the same this year. Good gift for males or females of any age.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

How about making a little photo album of them with you and the important people around them. It was my mums 60th birthday recently, she has everything she wants and if she doesnt have it she just buys it, so I got a nice album £5 from tesco and put pics of her as a baby, getting married, her parents, me as a baby, my children and all her special friends. She loved it!!

Scarves always do the trick. Pretty and keeps them warm. You could get a silky fancy one or a thick woolly one.

I can second this type of present - we have a mil who hardly ever says what she wants, so we usually have to come up with something ourselves and recently we have given her photo gifts and she loves them.

Last year we bought a digital photo frame and put loads of photos of the family, holidays, christmas etc which she loved.

    fresh flowers

My 90 yr old great aunt so looks forward to the bouquet of flowers I always send her for Mothers' Day [she's my Godmother], her birthday and Christmas. I often feel guilty as it's such an easy present for me but she loves it.
