On my dd's Christmas list is a potato ricer, a gadget about which I know nothing. I have always had perfectly good results with my masher. However, I digress, I am looking for recommendations for the 'best' ricer,
thank you

I've got a Pressy one that I got from Lakeland some years ago. It has served me well. I wouldn't be without one now.0

I got mine from John Lewis and it's great. I would make sure you get a strong one because I have to exert quite a bit of presure to force the potatoes through - ds's cheap version from Lidl broke.0

Mine is from Ikea too and it makes great mash (we all hate lumps)
Never failed and at only 6.99 about 3 years ago, it was a bargain!

I bought one from ebay a few years ago... rubbish! the handles caved in and bent the first time I used it.
Replaced it with one from John Lewis. Never had a problem with it.0 -
I just use a masher because we rarely have mashed tatties but my mum has one from lakeland and it has served her well.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I have an OXO good grips one, and its great. Really solid and sturdy-all stainless steel, and its dishwasher safe (I LOATHE washing mashed potato pots and utensils for mashing-end up with starch all over unless you rinse about 6 times!)0

thanks for all the replies. No Ikea close to us and not wanting to risk postal deliveries,I have the chance to visit John Lewis tomorrow so will look at theirs and the Oxo good grips too.
