Tesco clubcard limited 3d cineworld code

Starting today Tesco are offering a 3d Cineworld family ticket for £18. This is limited to the first 2000 applications.
The information states that you will be emailed 4 codes.
Each code, when entered on the Cineworld website, gives you one family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) to see a 3d film.
I applied for this earlier, however, I have only been emailed one code!
I don't known if this converts to 4 films when entered on the Cineworld site but if it is only for one film this is a real rip off!!
It is too late to ring Tesco customer services now to ask.

Has anyone else applied and how many codes did you receive!!??

I read that differently-I read it that they send you 4 codes; one for each family member for one film.
'2/We’ll email you four online codes within 5 days of your order being placed. Each code is valid for one family member’s ticket (two adults and two children).'
If that is the case, its the equivalent of £54 for a family of four at 3 times the value of the clubcard vouchers, which is the standard now.

yes i have re read it and it seems that way. not very clear really. i suppose it will cost way more than that if you buy them but its surely cheaper to get the indivual ones and add the 3d glasses when you get to cinema or bring your own

  • No, I agree its not clear at all-very bad wording. For two adult and two child's tickets for Cineworld 3D, the cost is £25.60 and the glasses are 80p each.
  • £25 !!!!

    its £34 for Milton Keynes.

    WARNING !!!!!!!!

you should get 4 code and ive just tried redeeming them but couldnt get them to work. cineworld customers service said they will refund me the full booking price. originally had to tell my son that we werent going to the cinema for his birthday !!!

(the t+c do say you cant use them for premium showings but how can you tell if it is a premium showing - there were more expensive showing so i dont think this was a premium showing).
  • just come back. the reason why the codes rejected and it was so much was because it was in a delux screen (but no bar). Considering this info is not on the site nor at the booking office you dont find out the codes wont work until you try and use them !!! also means that there may be a full week you cant use your vouchers for a particular film due to no fault of your own as every showing is on a delux screen. also there is no option to pay the difference. all pretty shoddy if you ask me.
Im gonna send stroppy emails to cineworld and tesco - ill keep you informed.
  • I too have got the £18 clubcard 4xonline codes from Tesco.

I've managed to book to see Gullivers Travels in 3D this afternoon. All the coodes were accepted and nothing to pay.

If I'd booked without the codes it would have cost around £30. It's not exactly 3 x the value - but still it uses up some Tesco vouchers and so doesn't cost any actual money (especially after Xmas).

Will reuse 3D glasses we've kept from previous films and usually sneak in our own drinks & crisps/sweets.

Can't wait & hope the film's as good as we're expecting.

Also - Happy New year to everyone & thank you all for the money saving tips and codes I've managed to use over the past year. I for one am very grateful and have saved loads (but also spent loads as I can't resist a bargain or a glitch!!).

I read it very carefully and the wording was cleverly ambiguous. A family ticket suggests a ticket for the family. All it needed was one sentance to clarify that the 4 codes you received relates to one person per code. When I looked at the normal deal which is £4 per ticket I added the wording on the Tesco site with the logic that it could not be be worse than thier current individual deal. It turns out it can. An adult is £4 and a child is £2.50 - total would be £13 v the great deal (for a limited number) at £18.
