I've heard it all before...

Ho Ho Ho the year is drawing to an end and once more all the evil little bitter and twisted individuals crawl out of the woodwork to try and put a dampener on the hard working family man's new year:
The new year should be a lot better

VAT changes

Unemployment set to rise

Newly created jobs resulting from the shift from public sector to private sector will not offer the same levels of employment protection/redundancy and other benefits

Increases in taxation

Reduction in Child benefit

Increase checking of mortgage applications so all income has to be verified

Cuts in housing benefit

The surprising reluctance of banks to increase lending in a falling market

We've heard it all before. The same old sorry story last year... and the year before that... and the year before that... *yawn*

But no! Wait! It's going to be different this time... it's time for the next leg down, house price catastrophe mk III. This is the big one, hold onto your hats, I've seen it in the tealeaves.

Is there anyone left who really thinks we're heading back into recession? That property prices will come down by 50%?

Give it up. The games over.

I heard it all before in the early 90's too, people don't seem able to realize that although things are bad they will eventaully get better (then bad again, etc)

Interesting definition of "better" some people have, almost sadistic.

Anyway, you're coming across as a bit frothy lately Blacklight.

I'm trying to cut down on my drinking, my resolve is great most of the day, but sometime around 7pm I really struggle and end up thinking 'ok I'll cut back tomorrow' and then get a glass of wine
