Miracle On 34th Street was on one of the movie channels the other day, I only turned the tele on to check the Sky guide for CSI times. So, I HAD to watch it

Yes you are all very sad.
Don't get me wrong I love Christmas and have been buying presents etc, but I could not bring myself to watch the Christmas films or listen to Christmas songs until until 1st December. It just wouldn't be right for me.
I have bought Polar Express and Elf to watch.
My 3 year old son loves all the classic films such as Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang, Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so it will be a good excuse to sit down with him and watch the Christmas films. Can't wait - but it won't be before 1st December.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
I watched Holiday Inn last night! Not completely Christmassy but you've got to love Bing Crosby singing White Christmas in it's original setting.
Then i found out today that Westlife are going to do a cover of it  why do they insist on murdering every good song ever written
a bit like Ronan doing Fairytale of New York - just leave good songs along god dammit!!! 0 -
what would christmas be without ' Its a Wonderful Life'.
Donna Reed, Ahhhhhhhhhh, if only you were in colour."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

Don't worry, it'll have a few weeks of popularity as a new generation are introduced to it then sink into obscurity much like Ronan's Fairytale of New York & by next Christmas the original will be back on the radio. The purists will never stand for long term alteration of THE christmas song:D
(I watch White Christmas whenever I am feeling down, December, July or any other time of year. It's my "pick me up" film:o:D And I am currently re-reading A Christmas Carol, my excuse being I didn't get to read it last December as per my tradition as my new baby distracted me & I don't want to miss out again this year. Actually, it's pure self indulgance, I just love the book:rolleyes: So what if it's October?!:p)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -

Not at all sad - I managed to sneak my Rat Pack Christmas CD into the car last weekend (normally Mr Piglet has a ban on Christmas music in the car before 1st December!) and have been happily singing along with Frank, Dean and Bing all week on the way to and from work...it makes me happy!!

Step 2: to get another CD in when he's not looking (I think "Now, that's what I call Christmas" is the next on the list!:rotfl:).
