Online Glasses

Having just watched todays episode of rip off Britain, I'm intreagued about the glasses story on there today.
I need glasses for reading and driving and have needed new ones for some time, but I don't like any of the cheap framesd in my opticians, and I can't afford the ones that do suit me.
Just looked at some of these online glasses companies and their prices are much more within my budget.
Has anyone used these online glasses companies, and if so what were your experiences with them?

I have bought some of the very cheap ones from selectspecs. The prescription was fine, though the frames felt a bit plastic-y. I keep them as a spare pair because they feel like they would break with constant use. However, they did only cost around a fiver (8ish with postage), so you get what you pay for. They ship from Hong Kong, so they do take a little while to arrive, but not too long.
I bought one of their mid-range pairs with metal frames for my Mom. I haven't seen them as she lives in another country (& they sent them straight there), but she says they are fine, and the prescription is perfect.
The downside to buying online is the measurements - the pair I got is a little tighter than the pair I got from an optician, and they are only one or two mm different. If you already have glasses or sunglasses which are comfortable to wear, have them to hand with a ruler when ordering so you can measure them and compare measurements to the frames you are ordering.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
I use glasses2you.co.uk. About £90 for a pair of single vision, rimless titanium specs including anti-scratch coating. The optician wanted upwards of £350 for the same thing. I don't think they last as long as the high street ones do but at that price I don't mind getting new pair every couple of years.0

Thanks for the replies so far.
I'm going to try out some glasses I have seen. I only use them really for driving and reading so shouldn't be aproblem if the are a little uncomfortable.
Seen some nice semi rimless for £9.95 and 2.95 postage so for that price their worth a go IMO.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
