Returning Items

Options
Evening

I'm hoping to pick your brains about a couple of things I want to return/exchange:

I bought a blu-ray player in Tesco today but have just seen on an advert for Currys they have it cheaper. Is it ok to ask Tesco for a refund with reciept even though there isn't a fault with it?

Also I want to return a top I bought in the Jane Norman section of Debenhams. I don't normally shop in JN (was an impulse buy!) Will they let me exchange for any Debs item or will it have to be JN? Can't get a refund as no reciept :/

Hope someone can help! Thanks :)

If there is no fault, you have just changed your mind, then Tesco are quite within their rights to simply offer store credit/vouchers rather than a cash refund and they don't even have to offer that, all depends on the customer service in your own store really.

  • Your best bet is simply to ask the store in each case. Perhaps say that you bought items as Christmas gifts but now found that the person concerned already has/does not want said items. Do not be tempted to unpack blu-ray player.
