BR and now redundancy :(

I went bankrupt on 3rd december and my partner has today (after spotting his work being emptied of stock) been made redundant as the company has gone bust. He will get about £2k and has no debt and has about £2k of savings, so we're not in a desperate position. But it just sucks its all come just before xmas and we're worried because of that how long it could take him to get another job
anyway what a crap month, just wanted to vent in the hope of some support & advice from u all! thanks

So sorry to hear your news Hunt and I do understand how you feel.
My husband got made redundant a week before xmas, 2 years ago, and its awful at any time, just seems to hit harder at this time of year
Try and think positive if you can, no debts to pay is a big bonus and im sure a job will come along for him in no time.
Not sure what else I can say to help you feel better but just know you have support here when you need to vent. Good luck.

thanks everyone we both feel much better than yesterday, he found out today exactly what he is owed and its more than we thought and I also spoke to my OR today to rearrange the phone interview and asked his advice about doing a new SOA for our new situation and he said just put your partner as unemployed supplying no income to the household and just do the SOA on your half of everything and your sole bills. So that makes it easier and means I shouldn't have to do an IPA although that could change when my partner gets a new job i guess. So anyway feeling positive for now, my OR interview has been brought forward to this wednesday instead of next monday and i want to get it out the way so thats good
