How specialist? There are a bunch of McElectronics guys... but I have found no one who I would trust to anything costing more than a couple of hundred pounds. I would be intrigued to know if you found anyone.Always overestimating...0

Have to agree there, if it is a good piece of kit bite the bullet and send it back to the manufacturer's agent.
That of course assumes something.... that it didn't come from Richer Sounds!
I have a paradigm servo 15 subwoofer which is (surprisingly for RS) actually really quite high end... nobody in the UK will have anything to do with it. I am determined not to give up because I wont even get close if I don't spend £500+ on a replacement!Always overestimating...0 -
Hmm, Paradigm are virtually non-existant in the UK, they're a small Canadian company I think. I bought a centre speaker very cheap from Richer Sounds without the grille at the front, so if you find someone useful, please do share! What's the problem with it anyway? Anyone can diagnose and repair a faulty capacitor or something, and as long as it's replaced with a quality component, there shouldn't be a problem.0

This, unfortunately, I know. I have the board schematics thanks to paradigm, directly. The amp is dual mono (I believe) and one side has ceased working. I have replaced the fried components but still nothing... hence the need for someone who knows better than my simple electronics skills!Always overestimating...0

It's nothing special, just a high end cinema amp of a few years vintage that's developed a small problem. So far Belfast doesn't seem to have many options, anywhere else in the Province that anybody can recommend?0

The 'high end' is the worry... the name is eluding me but there is a place in Belfast, opposite Jury's hotel, which I have been told can do some repairs. But I must admit I have never gone to them because the things they seems to sell appear to be inexpensive and generic... so I do not trust them with something a bit more complex. My amp shouldn't be tough but a cinema amp may well prove otherwise... there is a lot in there!Always overestimating...0

Not Belfast, but Culcavy (Hillsborough) - Sound Control. He does a lot of maintenance on high-end audio equipment, could at least let you know if it's possible to do an economic repair.0

Do LRG on the Albertbridge road do repairs. May be worth giving them a ring.0

www.craigavon.tv will fix it. Based in Lurgan. They repaired my Sony receiver a few years ago. It was still in warranty so didn't cost me anything. Have used them recently when my LCD developed dead pixels. Very quick turnaround.0
