diffrerent years on topped up mortgage

Options
before i met my husband, he started with a mortgage of £50,000, but kept adding to it. not a problem in itself except the mortgage co. kept making themrun for 25 years. so we now have (i think) 4 different time scales within the same mortgage package, if you see what i mean! i want to remortgage, but this makes it very difficult to compare monthly costs as the quote is for all of them to last the same length of time.

if we could overpay, would it be better to overpay the smaller and younger of these, or the larger and older?

help please! :-/ :'(

  • Hi Di,

It's difficult to offer any guidance without a little more info. What type of mortgage do you have? repayment, interest only etc... more importantly who's your mortgage with and what interest rate are you paying?

Assuming it's a repayment mortgage, is there any reason you don't want to just combine all the loans into one?

    Simon
