Gorillaz are to release their 4th Album as a free download on Xmas Day, on their advent calander which has also inc wallpapers, masks...etc to down load

Looks like you will need to be a member of the fan-club (£25 a year) to get the gift of the new album.

At least it will be on the net soon afterwards for the fans whom don't want to pay £25 a year for a "fan" club

I'm not sure if you do, I can't see anything anywhere saying you need to be part of the fan club, where did you see this info?

On the 25th December, the box says"

25th December
Sub Division Members get extra special cool stuff"

On the link itself to the Sub Division page, "Sub Division members get a 'bonus' advent gift from the 25th December 2010"

Therefore it leads me to assume that the free album is only going to be available (legally) to paying members.

yes thats how i read it as well which is a shame as i would have downloaded it

I will download it, illegally.

Sorry but in the most cases bands "fan-clubs" are poor value for money.

I'm a member.

It led to me being in the front row of one of their World Tour rehearsal gigs last summer, which was the most fun I've ever had at a gig. Best (and only) £25 I've ever spent on a fanclub membership.

Anyway, the album is still being streamed for free, and I personally think it's well worth a listen.
