Unsure whether this is the right place to post this so forgive me if its not!
Does anyone know where I can get hold of some of these? I'm in the West Midlands area (Wolverhampton) and really do want to make Sloe Gin for an ill relative for Christmas. I would even be prepared to buy these!
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!

I want to make some Sloe Gin, and have brought my sloes off someone on ebay, think paid about £1.60 for 1lb? Came the next day, v nice ones too. Also came with a recipe for it.

Managed to find some today
quite hard work but felt really rewarding - unfortunately didn't wear long sleeves and I've had a reaction to something - so if you picking wear long sleeves and preferrably gloves too! If you can't get hold of them it may be an idea trying your local homebrew - have been told that apparently some of them do stock them or will be able to get their hands on some for you!
Now anyone know where to get the cheapest Gin??

I was at a farmers market over the weekend looking for sloe gin. Didn't think of making it myself or even about getting berries from ebay!0

Gosh I could have been quids in if I'd sold mine on Ebay!! It's been a good year for these and our local hedgerows were absolutely laden. Picked ours about a month ago. Hope you have success in finding some locally.0

I live in inner city Manchester. If I find any I wouldn't eat them as they would be by the side of a main road. Also I'd be scared I'd pick something posionous.0

Apparently, the best time to pick them is after the first frost, as it softens them slightly. Good luck with finding some.0

We haven't had the first proper frost yet, have we? Am I being stupid in thinking its too mild?0

Off topic - I got some damsons given to me and I made damson gin - same way as sloes and looks promising tooSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

When I made sloe gin years ago we used to pierce each one with a needle. Then somewhere I heard you can put then 48hrs in the freezer, this will split the skins and allow the alcohol in. Hope you find your sloes, try the library for a book to identify them??M.E..... MORE than you know0
