House renovation yet you don't own it. Why? You can usually borrow up to about 1 years salary unsecured across all forms of borrowing including any unused credit card limits but lenders will run scared so soon after borrowing £23,000 and wanting more.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

You might find it difficult to borrow an extra £10k after just getting £23k but only your bank will tell you....you won't find the answer on this forum

Before computers made all the decisions for unsecured lending, I signed off a loan to a chap who lived "with parents" and wanted to borrow the money for "home improvements". 2 years later an internal audit picked up on my oversight and I got a rollocking - fortunately the borrower made all the payments, but I should never have signed off the loan.

I would have thought that most lenders' systems would trigger an automated decline if the questions have been answered honestly. Unless they think you have a shiny new car.

I'm surprised you got the loan and I'd be gobsmacked if you got an additional sum of money so soon after raising such a large amount.
  • surprise got a loan if not on ER,sounds like a wind up to me
  • Why aren't you on the electoral roll?

So after rent you have 2,500 a month, excluding your loan repayment. A credit card and a month or 2 of saving and you would have 10k no problem.
There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
