Tesco Direct - Beware!!!!

This is my 1st posting as I tend to just read for advise, but this time I am so angry I wanted to warn people......
I ordered online from Tesco's Direct to have an IPod delivered for collection at our local store. When I arrived to collect at the time they had allocated me, I was told that due to bad weather in Scotland they were a week behind with deliveries. They could not even gtee it would arrive before Xmas. I have checked website and they are still allowing people to order, even though they know that they cannot deliver in time. I understand about the bad weather, but surely they should stop taking orders until they have caught up and can deliver on time. This was for my daughters birthday the following day and she was in tears in the store as she would not have her present on time. They did refund after I insisted, but this will take up to 5 days to go back into my account, so my daughter has to now wait for her present. I was not warned via email of delay, even though store admitted that they have known that nothing was going to be available. I even chcked if they would be able to give me an Ipod from the store due to the circumstances but they refused stating they were sep company. I even said that I would go to Tesco Direct Store, but they said I could not do that either. Just be warned if ordering from Tesco Direct you might not get it before Xmas. This is the same with home delivery and collect from store.

I am logged on to see to see if anyone else is having similar problems with Tesco Direct.
My 'me too' story is
PC ordered online on Sunday (the big voucher exchange saga is another l-o-n-g story).
Delivery confirmed to local store for pick-up any time after 4pm Tuesday.
Headed to store just in time to receive a text at 4:45pm saying there was a delay and they would be in touch. Headed home.
Next couple of days the Tesco Direct "Where is my order?" webpage insisted the PC was in transit between warehouse and store.
Early Friday morning the webpage message changed to "Sorry there is a problem with this item. Our customer services team will contact you shortly" which apparently means "Unfortunately this item was misplaced during transit."
Saturday mid-morning, still waiting for any contact .....0 -
I am also having problems with them. I placed an order online for some toys and arranged to have them delivered to my mum as I am in Saudi Arabia and not due back till the 19th. The order was delivered on the 6th but half of the toys were missing, the driver told my mum another parcel was on the way. I have checked my account online and it says all toys were delivered on the 6th.
I have emailed them to ask what is going on and I received what I should imagine is a standard email they are sending everyone regarding the weather not at all helpful to me. I have emailed them again and I am still waiting a reply. I have tried to call them several times but you cannot get to speak to anyone they have a recorded message about the weather and when I went through the options all I keep getting is an engaged tone. I can't keep trying to get through it is costing me a fortune.
I have never had a problem with them before and I appreciate the weather has caused alot of problems but I just want to know what has happened to the toys I have paid for:mad:0 -
i ordered 2 weeks ago, money has left the account but still no DVs. I'm getting annoyed now:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

This isn't unique to Tesco, many companies are having delivery issues because of the weather, and the reason you can't get through, or may not be getting replies to emails, is that there are several hundred other people with your exact same problem inundating their customer service channels with the exact same queries.
All you can really do is to calm down and accept that delays may cause you problems, such are the perils of choosing online shopping for Xmas presents during the coldest winter in decades. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
I ordered mine instore using the vouchers and received no communication from anyone, so went in to collect goods. Not delivered due to snow, so next day called hotline, the message states if we have not contacted you to say otherwise, your delivery is available for collection and they are not answering the phones so unable to check, so went in yet again no delivery. I asked the CSR who we can check with, told to call number we've already used. Even the stores seem to be getting no information from their hubs.
I don't mind the delay, I understand about the weather. BUT a little bit of communication is essential. We have now cancelled the order even got them to credit the double voucher points thingy.
