Help needed urgently - love2shop vouchers - could this work?

Hi,
I am annoyed every year when my Wife saves for Love2shop vouchers. She saves with Park and it can help budget for hampers but this year I have found that we have nearly £400 of Love2shop vouchers which are all going on our Son. When he was younger toys etc would be of multiple types and we could easily find ways of 'off loading' Love2shop vouchers but nowadays he is simply only interested in games consoles and PCs.
We have now found ourselves in a position where we could buy a great deal PC in PC World (not part of love2shop retailer network) but are stuck with vouchers. Does anyone know if we could purchase something such as an expensive Blue-Ray player, in say Argos, part of the love2shop acceptable list, and then as untouched item return in few days for cash.
Don't like doing this but I want my Son to have best item for him not simply a 'make do' item because of limitations of Love2shop acceptance in stores. I try every year to get the Wife to save in some other way but each year same thing but its now getting stupid as its so limited...and ultimately will end up costing us more.
Thank you all for your assistance.

They will refund you in the exact same way you paid- it will say how you paid on the reciept. Should you lose the reciept they may be able to (if you catch a manager on a good day) trace your transaction if you know the day and time and till point and they can double check this on CCTV but otherwise you'd just get a credit note or vouchers.
Best bet? sell the vouchers on ebay or buy something to sell on ebay.
Do Argos not have any games he would like? also are there not any deals on in Comet, HMV or what about saving them for a family day out at somewhere like Chessington or Thorpe Park when the weather is warmer? http://www.love2reward.co.uk/rewards/redeemers/love2shop-redeemer-list.jsp
Failing that, what about mobile top-ups? (no idea if this is possible) or spend it bit by bit in places like Boots, Superdrug, WHS, Iceland..etc and maybe offset the cost of your son's gift throughout the rest of the year.0 -
hiya,
what pc deal have you seen in pc-world?
have you got a online link for it? only comet accept the vouchers (ive used them there before a few years ago)
theres also good home improvement stores which might be handy for yourselves,
how old is your son? what about the sports type shops?
i use to get the vouchers but when the kids get older they get fussy and nothing interest them with the vouchers
best bet next year is to save cash . . . . . thats what he`ll want shortly,

Hi Jenniewb,
Limitations on cash is reason for wanting to exchange. I need just under £900 for an all-in-one PC which is nearly £100 cheaper in PC World. I won't have the extra £400 or so needed to put towards this purchase for approximately 10 days and I feel this is cutting it fine for buying a specific PC. I may have to take what is available.
My Wife had told me it would likely be the scenario you described for refunds. I myself feel these vouchers are a waste of time but my Wife wouldn't be without the assurance that these vouchers and associated Park hampers provide that most of Christmas is paid for up front. This is understandable, but at the same time if these vouchers were realised into cash value I'd have enough at moment to purchase actual PC. Other lower price items such as games can be purchased should other money come available later towards Christmas so thats no solution.
Many thanks for your reply.

Comet have a price promise

Assuming of course that it is the same product in both stores. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Price Promise is often useless against PC's because the packages are very rarely exactly the same. Even one piece of different bundled software renders the promise useless. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

which all-in-1 pc is it? have you the link?
comet have all-in-1 pc`s starting at £499 for the lenovo & asus ones so if you use your love2shop vouchers you would need £99 cash towards it,
i suppose it just depends what spec your looking for, im guessing to encourage homework/coursework?
heres the link:

maybe next year your wife could save half vouchers & half cash that gives a bit of room for choice, the vouchers are good for places like iceland (plenty of xmas food) or boots,

thanks everyone. I'll just hope for the best. It'll be plenty good enough for him, he's 15, no need for massive power yet but I always like to get best possible option within limitations. Was just hoping to not get stuck with options available at just 2 retailers. No worries though, he won't know the difference at the end of the day.
thank you,
