[I am slowly tackling my outgoings. Yesterday I called telewest to say that I am switching to BT and they gave me the package I am currently paying just over £40 a month for for £26.99 for 6 months! I know I could probably get it cheaper still but I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to all these new packages (what the hell is total broadband??!!!) so I thought I'd stick with what i know./QUOTE]

    Hi
just phone them back and ask for the cheapest possible broadband. Total I guess is superfast memgamegs ( whatever they are) Im sure you can negotiate something cheaper
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I switched my energy supplier this weekend through USwitch and Quidco but I don't think I was logged on so won't get the money back!! What an idiot!
Never mind, it's another little step for me.
I've also got two more 0% credit cards, so will be making full use of those even though I did not want to get any more cards. It's all saving though, isn't it. I'll get rid of them once the 0% period is up.

This is a bit sick....I'm actually looking forward to doing another snowball in the New Year!!! I'm trying not to get obsessed by this, but it reaches into every part of your life doesn't it. Especially at this time of year when everyone is asking me to go out and I'm having to say I'm busy. (White lies, I don't want all my friends to know how bad this is)

Anyway, hope Christmas is happy for everyone and not a complete financial misery. I've had a rough year and sometimes we need to remember just how lucky we are to be alive and healthy with a roof over our heads and enough to eat (most of the time!!)

    hohoho! Cheers everyone!

just another note..as you are on your way to becoming debtfree..
with your items, you can get someone to sell your stuff on ebay..they charge a small commission but in the end, you get money for your old items without too much hassle..
    smile everyday...cos its free :)
Live everyday to the Full..cos there is no tomorrow:dance:

Just a thought. I remember once being offered by an MBNA card to look at moving my credit limits around between two MBNA cards. Perhaps you could investigate moving limit from your interest-charging MBNA card to your new 0% Virgin one?
Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
    Debt free 21st Oct 2011.

    All thanks to :money:
  • Thanks for that James, I didn't realise that was an option.

I'm feeling a little low again today. I know I only have one and a half days to go but the kids are stressing me out. They are refusing to do any work as "it's nearly the last day so why should they and anyway nobody else is making them work" Maybe I should just cave in and save my sanity.

All the other form tutors have bought their kids little prezzies and sweets and bits for tomorrow and mine want to know what I've got them. Nothing! I feel really mean but I can't justify spending money on them when I haven't even bought decent presents for the kids in my family!

    Roll on tomorrow.....

I know you're a bit strapped for cash but I'm sure a good solid cane would be well worth £20 of your money. :D :rotfl: ;)

  • Hi everyone, hope all have had a good Christmas and New Year. Mine has started off with a huge bill...I crashed my OH's motorbike last week and the damage is quite bad. He did say he'd pay but as I did the damage I don't think he should have to fork out for it.

Let's hope it's not an omen!!!!
