Good Business Directory Listings

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend proven online businesss advertising directories, free or pay-for, that really work (i.e. Yell, Thomson Local, etc). In other words, can anyone recommend a directory whereby they have had known returns/call-outs through advertising with your recommended directory....regardless of your type of business.

There are so many directories on the net that I am finding it impossible where to start, which ones to trust and so on. I do not want to advertise just for the sake of my listing being free for example; I would prefer high quality "known winners"!

Depends on what your business is.

For example, yell.com offer free listings, you'll get hassled twice a year being told of the benefits of spending £400 on a better advert and hightened listing on the website. Thompson do the same.

Yell.com is known for people looking for cheap retailers when it comes to small businesses.

Try and find a directory that relates to your business, whatever that may be as you haven't said what you do, and get a listing with them.

The obvious one to do is your own website.
