Just thought id start a new pot to see if others had the same problem as we have been having with Wescot.
We had a debt from sky for £169 which i said i would py at £7.00 per month month one and two went by fine until last night when i got a phone all from them stating i was behind in my repayments ( i paid octobers payment on time)
Any way more to the point i asked how i got this phone number they as when i spoke to them previousley i said that the number that sky had given them was incorrect and i want prepared to give them the new one.
He told me that it was the one sky had given and that was that i questioned again and aid it wasnt and i know for a fact that my dw wouldn have given it to them.
It turns out thy use caller display and keep it.
Just beware and always withold your number.

Or ring from a phone box :rotfl:
I think witholding your number's always a good idea when ringing people you don't necessarily want to ring you back. I know with BT it's 141 before you call - don't know if it's the same for all providers.

Its quite common for DCA's to snatch the phone number when you call. As for the payment issue have you got the agreement in writing.Barclaycard 3800

They take ages to send anything in writing, I know it took months for them to write out accepting F&F settlement on my account. Tell them you won't deal with them over the phone any more and that you need the agreement in writing before you can pay.Barclaycard 3800

I get that all the time with MBNA. They keep saying that I'm a payment in arrears when I have a letter saying that the debt's been reset. They keep threatening (though they always seem to use a more pleasant tone with me) to refer my case to their manager (!) to which I tell them that that would be a good idea as he might actually be a little bit more intelligent and might actually know what's going on.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0

If you can, always deal with your creditors by letter, and when you send them corrospondance send it by Recorded Delivery.
You can ask Wescot to remove your telephone number and express your concern that your being harrassed. Modify this next paragraph to suit your needs and put it in a letter ....
