Cooking two turkey crowns..advice needed

Having quite a large get together at Christmas and have two turkey crowns to cook. I have a double oven....do you think I should cook one in each oven rather than cook them on 2 racks in the same oven. Just wondering if they will not cook evenly if they are in the same oven.

rather than cook them on 2 racks in the same oven.

I would not have room ( hight ) to do both in same oven

I think you could probably cook them both in the same roasting tin but across the tin rather than down it.

Even if you get large crowns they are nothing like the size of a full Turkey and the height is not very high. You might have to buy a bigger tin though.

If I had to cook them on different shelves, then I would swap them round every so often.
  • I would cook them in separate ovens if I were you.

I must say that i would cook them in different ovens if i had the luxury of a double oven (a double oven would be bigger than my tiny kitchen LOL)

i would use the same oven and swap them over during cooking.
  • Thanks everyone for your advice.....still mulling over what to do.

I would cook using both ovens and duplicate the potatoes etc in each oven. I would be concerned that if I did them in the same oven and swapped them etc that they wouldn't cook evenly.

you could do it either of the ways mentioned, how big are they going to be? one of the best ways to cook boneless turkey is to coat in melted butter, seasoning and then double wrap in cling film and steam, if your steamer is big enough, then just pop into the oven for 30 mins to crisp off the skin, keeps the turkey lovely and moist this way.
