This may not be useable this time round, but it's a real O/S kind of gift.

A few years ago, my brother got married. At the time, I made a point of getting the cork from the first bottle of champagne that got opened in celebration of the same. Come Xmas, I took the cork, and using some glue, some gold glitter, and a piece of gold string/elastic, I transformed the cork into a lovely Xmas tree ornament.

Very cheap, very personal, and something that will always bring back some wonderful memories each year. Far, far more precious than any gift I could have bought them !! I've been reliably informed that my brother and his wife still share a 'moment' as they put it in place on the tree each year, too. Ahhhhhh.

    An idea,and some questions.
Just received a catalogue with personalized gifts in-v expensive.I noticed a painted glass bauble personalized with babies name on.£20!Phew!
Looked a bit closer and it seemed to be written in glitter glue(?)

Where can i get a glitter glue pen.?
It was also packed into a little wooden box,I am sure some similar could be tracked down from a poundland type of shop.

Would this work with glitter glue do you think? Think it might also be a nice idea for a school christmas stall for fundraising.

Did you see jack dees comedy last night, where he was too tight to pay for the full name on the cristening cup and tried to finish it off himself :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm not saying your tight I think it's a lovley idea it just brought it to mind :D

Last year Woolworths were selling decorations a with a blank panel built in & special (felt tip?) pen for you to personalize yourself, between £1-3 each depending on what you chose. I got one & personalized it to read "Grandparents 1st Christmas" from our new son. They were thrilled, it cost me £1.49:D
