Sleeping Bag?

Hi All,
I'm after a lightweight sleeping bag Season 3/4 for a Charity Trek to Argentina in July. It's got to be lightweight and warm as I don't fancy lugging anything too heavy around.
Any recommendations/bargains? Nothing too expensive please.
Thanks, Jon.

3/4 seasons isnt really lightweight and will be pretty bulky. If you want 3/4 seasons and lightweight your gonna have to pay and buy a down filled bag that can usually bring the weight down to about 1Kg where synthetic bags of the same spec will usually weigh 1.8-2Kg as the synthetic fillings dont perform as well as down bags.
Reasonably light bags are Vango Viper 500 at 1.5Kg and synthetic opposed to down so the cost should be lower the vango lite series are really light weight but really for summer/autumn use.
You could try the Down tec 1000 bag it has 500g of goosedown weighs not much more and is 4 season £55 inc VAT there are a few 1200's on ebay.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions Little John, appreciated.

I have the Wynnster 1200 which is very lightweight and portable. You can pick it up for under £40 and I'd recommend it.0

Hiya, stumbled across this thread whilst searching for information on a similar thing, I need a sleeping bag that will be suitable for all seasons.
I am doing a charity trek in Peru in May and the temperature is likely to be below freezing at night, can anybody recommend anything (dont want to get cold)
have searched the various outdoor shop websites but not really sure what kind of thing I needfinally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -
alot of outdoor shops will advertise the comfort range of the bag - have a look at that and as said above down will perform better (in dry conditions) but comes at a premium. There's a reason why the proper manufacturers of mountaineering kit have stayed around all this time and still manage to charge more - don't be tempted to skimp.0

I got a great sleeping bag in the Millets January sale last year, it might be worth shopping around?0
