  • Thanks Queenie - I'm safe as have credit card and savings accs with them (savings accounts have made a huge difference in my budget in the last 3 weeks).

Not strictly on topic but I thought this may be useful to folks generally in terms of saving money - here's a weekly meal planner:

Hope it helps save money - which you could then put into PIN?

  • Thanks Queenie and Jaybee

After re reading the out line post I think I'll try recording Bogofs as virtual savings ;) That will make me feel a lot better :rotfl:

It was only after reading this thread I suddenly realised that although I had been recording the savings made on the budget I set for the grocery challenges I hadn't counted the actual drop down from the original £510 to the budgeted £375 each month. So as well as coming in under budget I also should have recorded that I had saved the original diff between the two :T

I was really chuffed when I wrote the first post it made such a difference to put it on "paper".

EDIT I haven't recorded vouchers etc as they were saved in the last 2 months but I will start to record the difference next month as well as the virtual savings although I need to get my head round that :rotfl:

So total saved this month so far £135 :T

Saw you'd posted that on another thread :money:
I use a program which I downloaded on a free trial and was so impressed with it that I did invest to continue using it :o I can type in all my own recipes and print off a menu planner and shopping list from it (so for me, it was worth the £13 )

kiwi - virtual savings are my 'evidence' that I've thought about and utilised any offers and made a saving despite not seeing that saving in actual cash :) I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how it will add up over time :D Danger is, it usually gets swallowed up in the brain cell chaos and it's just so easy to wonder why you're working at nabbing bargains, invest time in getting the right one's at the right time and there is nothing tangible to 'show' for it. By logging them as VS, you can have a paper pat on the back and think, "Hey! I *did* that"!!! :D:D:D (Soul savings ;) )

And another ten pounds added to the fund. Another Boots voucher from Pigsback has topped up my phone for me. This will count, as even though I don't normally shop there, I needed to to up my phone, so would've HAD to have spent the money somewhere

I think I've just added another £34 to my pot :D

    I needed 2 new pairs of jeans @ £20 each = £40. I went to tescos and they had 2 pairs @ £3 each = £6 saved £34

I just have to make myself transfer the money from my account to the morgage account now, as that's where my pin money is going. That will take some getting used too, actually putting it aside and seeing the diff instead of it getting swallowed up elsewhere.
